Manuel Antonio National Park

Located in the Manuel Antonio city, in the north of the province of Puntarenas and very close to the Quepos city, this park was created in 1972 and sits on a land of ​​16 km2; making it the country’s smallest park.

On the other hand, with its emerald green forests and diverse wildlife, it is one of the most biodiverse places in the world and one of the natural jewels of the country. Its fauna is a true sanctuary sheltering 184 species of birds, 109 species of mammals and a marine fauna that includes (spotted dolphins, bottlenose dolphins and humpback whales). Thus, it will allow tourists to observe remarkable species, including the titi monkey, the white-faced and howler monkeys, the 2 and 3 toed sloths, the raccoon, the coati, the toucan, the tink frog (in its natural habitat) and many other species.

As for its flora, apart from the trees, there are 346 species of plants composing it.

As in many other national parks, you will have the opportunity to do a lot of activities. Whether it's water activities that can be done at any of its four beaches (rafting, kayaking, snorkeling, etc.), hiking in the lush forests or observing animals in their natural habitats, be assured that the pleasure will be at its peak. For hikers, there are several trails that will allow them to explore in depth the fauna and flora just as they are in nature.

While you’ll be in the park, do not miss the opportunity to see Punta Serrucho, a small tourist spot that has gotten the attention of many visitors who went to this park. This attraction is a natural portion of land that enters the sea. A rock formation resulting from movements of the earth's crust.

If you’ll need to change before bathing in one of the four beaches, it will be possible because there are showers and changing rooms. However, it is forbidden to use soap and shampoo in the showers. The park's business hours are from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, but  it is closed on Mondays. To make the most of it, we advise you to go before 2:00 pm.
