Located in the fertile highlands of Costa Rica's central valley, specifically in the small town of Barva de Heredia, this company has been organizing guided tours of its plantation since 1991. It is one of Costa Rica’s first coffee plantations. Your presence at this place will allow you to see not only the plantation, but also to visit the factory in which the whole process that leads to the bagging of coffee after picking. Throughout the visit, you will be accompanied by competent and expert guides who, with great kindness will give you a lot of informations.
In addition, with an English and Spanish theatrical presentation, you will have more explanations about the process of coffee production, the practices of sustainable cultivation as well as the great role that coffee plays in the social and economic spheres of the country. At the end of the tour, you will visit the gift shop where you’ll be able to buy fresh coffee. If you wish, you’ll be able to eat at the restaurant that’s there (Don Prospero); it serves fresh and succulent Costa Rican cuisine. This visit will help you tame your taste buds to recognize the unique taste of Costa Rican coffee. In addition, by your presence, you will encourage Britt Coffee to maintain its commitment to protecting the environment. Your visit will also help the company keep the certification level 4 of its tour, as the Costa Rica Tourism Board has issued it. Grant them a visit, they are open every day of the week from 8am to 5pm. In general, the tours last 90 minutes. However, the 3pm visit is available only from December to April.
